    Arizona Attorneys Respond: Legal Hotline

    Volunteer Information

The State Bar of Arizona and the Arizona Bar Foundation are addressing the urgent need for legal information and advice during the COVID-19 global health emergency by offering Arizona Attorneys Respond: Legal Hotline, a temporary legal information hotline. The hotline is available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Volunteers including lawyers, law students, and other legal professionals are urgently needed to help answer this call to action by participating in one of two ways for this access to justice program.

    1. Hotline Operator: Hotline operators will answer phone calls from the public seeking legal information. The goal is to provide legal information and referrals for callers with legal needs related to COVID-19.
    2. 30-Minute Legal Consultations: Arizona licensed lawyers will offer free 30-minute legal consultations to members of the public.

These turnkey volunteer opportunities offer a flexible and rewarding way to give back during these difficult times. Training and extensive legal information will be provided.

    WHO CAN VOLUNTEER?

    • Arizona licensed lawyers can volunteer to provide hotline assistance, 30-minute legal consultations, or both.
    • Law students, paralegals, and legal secretaries or other professionals in a legal environment can volunteer to provide hotline assistance.

    WHY VOLUNTEER?

YOU will help address the growing need for legal help in Arizona during unprecedented times. YOU make this volunteer opportunity your own by selecting your preferred way to help and the time you want to commit to the program (two hours minimum, hopefully more).

Volunteer lawyers will receive two hours FREE of self-study CLE for their participation, as well as a FREE premium account on the State Bar of Arizona's Find-a-Lawyer platform. In addition to getting real-time experience, volunteer law students can facilitate a work-study program or other academic-based opportunities. And other volunteers can register for self-study CLE of interest for free.
