Outstanding In-House Counsel of the Year Award
Established in 2015, the Outstanding In-House Counsel of the Year Award is presented by the Board of Governors to an Arizona in-house counsel that has made outstanding contributions to the in-house counsel practice and the community at large. The recipient of this award is a respected strategic and innovative leader who exemplifies the following traits: sound and trusted judgment, excellent legal and business acumen, vision, leadership, integrity and ethics.
Patrick Duffy serves as the Director of Global Labor Relations and Workforce Policy for Intel Corporation. He works with Intel teams on global labor relations strategies, employee mobility and immigration strategies, employment law compliance, and labor, employment, and immigration law reform efforts. Pat joined Intel in 1996 as a Human Resources Attorney. Prior to joining Intel, he practiced labor and employment law at Ryley, Carlock & Applewhite in Phoenix, Arizona and at Schmeltzer, Aptaker & Shepard in Washington, DC. He also served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Robert C. Broomfield of the US District Court for the District of Arizona. Pat received his undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona where he also served as Student Body President. He received his law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law where he was an Editor on the San Diego Law Review. Pat and his wife Barbara reside in Phoenix, Arizona. They are proud parents of two current U of A Wildcats: Mike who is majoring in Physiology and Nutrition and Brendan who is majoring in Economics.
