State Bar Volunteer Opportunities
Committees
The State Bar of Arizona has standing and ad hoc committees to
advise and serve the State Bar by overseeing programs, addressing
current issues, and making recommendations about legal services and
the administration of justice.
Lawyers on Call Program
Lawyers on Call is a public service program sponsored by the State
Bar of Arizona and Phoenix's Channel 12 KPNX TV. On the first
Tuesday of the month, members of the public can have their legal
questions answered by volunteer lawyers. The lawyers who volunteer
for the phone bank each month are specifically trained in that area
of law.
Mentors
This program connects Arizona's experienced attorneys with
less-seasoned attorneys and law students. It provides experienced
attorneys as mentors to answer substantive and procedural questions
and offers management ideas for less-experienced attorneys.
Sections
Work with other attorneys who share your interest in substantive
and specialized areas of practice. The State Bar of Arizona has 28
Sections organized around specific areas of law and
practice. Sections sponsor conferences and educational programs,
publish newsletters and pamphlets, monitor legislation, conduct
studies, as well as make recommendations to the State Bar Board of
Governors.
