Prescott Attorney Suspended for Six Months for Felony Conviction
June 27, 2017 – PHOENIX – Attorney Michael P. Thieme of Prescott was suspended from the State Bar of Arizona after being convicted of Criminal Damage and Driving Under the Influence.
The Presiding Disciplinary Judge of the Arizona Supreme Court approved an agreement for discipline by consent between Thieme and the State Bar of Arizona that resulted in a six-month suspension.
Thieme was involved in a one-car rollover collision and his car was found upside down near a destroyed APS utility box. On July 7, 2016, he was convicted of Criminal Damage, a Class Four felony, and Driving Under the Influence, a Class One misdemeanor. Thieme’s appeal of the verdict is pending.
Michael P. Thieme's six-month suspension was effective December 16, 2016, retroactive to his interim suspension. He was ordered to pay $1,200 to the State Bar of Arizona for costs and expenses incurred during all proceedings. He was also ordered to participate in the Bar’s Member Assistance Program (MAP).
