Arizona Law Journal Call for Topic Submissions

CALL FOR TOPIC SUBMISSIONS: Arizona State Law Journal
Arizona Issue 2012-2013

 

Arizona has a reputation for controversial legislation like SB 1070, but Arizona has also made a number of positive contributions to the legal landscape.  The Journal is seeking contributors for its 2012-2013 Arizona Issue to focus on novel or innovative ways Arizona has treated social and legal issues. 

The Arizona State Law Journal is looking for articles highlighting where the courts, government or non-governmental organizations have taken approaches that could be models for other states.  Examples include, but are not limited to: 

  • Arizona Redistricting Commission
  • Clean Elections
  • Initiative and referendum system
  • Mediation approaches to foreclosure
  • Arizona's Merit Selection System
  • Streamlined discovery rules

Topic Submission Deadline:  Friday, October 12, 2012.

Submissions must include:

  • Suggested paper title
  • 1-3 paragraph synopsis of paper topic
  • Author name and contact information

Submissions should be sent in word format to Meggan Medina, Arizona Issue Editor, at Meggan.Medina@asu.edu.  Authors will be chosen based on their topic submission to contribute a paper to the 2012-2013 Arizona Issue by October 26, 2012.  If chosen, contributors will need to submit final papers byJanuary 15, 2013. 

The Arizona State Law Journal is a general topic legal publication published by the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University.  It has been cited in many text books, law review articles, treatises, and court opinions (including the United States Supreme Court).  In the past, we have published noted scholars such as Erwin Chemerinsky, Richard Posner, Jeremy Waldron, and Susan Ehlrich.
