Stand Downs for homeless veterans occur throughout the United States. Their purpose is generally to assemble various service providers at one location to help veterans find housing options, employment assistance, medical and legal resources, clothing, hygiene items, and other essentials.

The State Bar of Arizona's Military Legal Assistance Committee and Communications Division work with county and local bar associations to find volunteers willing to assist local veterans.
