About two years ago at the U.S. Navy prison in Guantanamo, Cuba, a Muslim terrorism suspect met a Jewish lawyer from Arizona.
The detainee, an African named Noor Uthman Muhammed, was accused of helping to run a jihadist camp in Afghanistan that trained at least one of the 9/11 conspirators.
The attorney, Howard Cabot, was a recipient of the Jewish National Fund's Tree of Life Award for support of American-Israeli friendship. The two men, together at the controversial U.S. detention center for terrorism suspects, could not have been more different.
