December 28, 2010
Tuesday, December 7 marked the final Lawyers On Call public service program for 2010. Over the past six years, the State Bar of Arizona and 12 News have collaborated to bring the community a monthly phone bank where viewers had access to free legal advice provided by volunteer attorneys.
The State Bar of Arizona was excited to report that 2010 proved to be quite successful, as volunteer attorneys helped 1,282 Arizonans with their legal issues. This brought the total number of individuals helped in the past six years to 12,010.
In addition to closing the year with another successful Lawyers On Call, the December volunteer attorneys had the unique opportunity of bidding farewell to the 12 News studios on Central and Portland. 12 News will be relocating to the Arizona Republic building by the end of this month.
The State Bar is grateful to 12 News for their continued partnership as well as the attorneys who volunteer their time in addressing our communities' legal needs.
