Award of Appreciation

This award, established in 1989, is presented by the Board of Governors to individuals who are not members of the Bar. It is given in recognition of outstanding service toward the creation of a better public understanding of the legal profession and the administration of justice, the judiciary, or the legislative process.

2013 Recipient Bill Carnegie

WILLIAM D. CARNEGIE has been President and Chief Executive Officer of the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona, since January 2006. He has over 20 years' experience in nonprofit management, previously working in South Bend, Indiana and Grand Rapids, Michigan. Bill served in the United States Coast Guard as a Finance Officer, retiring in 1990 after a twenty-year career. He recently served as the Board Chairman of the Tucson Together Fund and sits on several local and regional nonprofit boards of directors. He holds a B.S. in Marketing from Hawaii Pacific University and a Masters in Nonprofit Administration from the University of Notre Dame. In 2012, Bill was named the 2012 Feeding America CEO of the Year, and the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona  has ranked in the Top 50 Best Nonprofit to Work For in the United States by The Nonprofit Times, for the past three years.
