Convention Guide
Please note: that this year we will not hand out written seminar materials. All registered guests will receive a link to the seminar materials prior to the convention. All seminar materials will be in PDF format, making it possible to use from your laptops, tablets or smartphones.
If you prefer to have a printed copy, we encourage you to print out the materials you'd like and bring them with you. If you prefer printed materials, there will be a daily fee of $50 per day for the seminar(s) you are registered for. Please pay on the registration form. Printed materials will only be available for those that have purchased them in advance.
Emergencies
AED, CRP, First Aid and Disaster Preparedness, Demonstrations of Confrontations personelle are available by dial "11" Security office emergency line or "O" hotel operator from any Arizona Biltmore house phone.
Cyber Café
Visit the complimentary Cyber Café located in the FLW Foyer, where you may check your email or search the Internet.
Hotel Accommodations
Reservations: mail the Hotel Reservation Form (Form B, INSERT page III) Biltmore Reservation form 2013 directly to The Arizona Biltmore, call 602.955.6600, or book online at www.arizonabiltmore. com. Use group code BARAZ. If mailed, must include first night's deposit of $162 + $21.50 tax ($12 porterage fee and $3/day room attendant).
Rooms are reserved as-available basis at the convention rate until May 17. After that date, any unreserved rooms become available for general resale.
Registration
Save time and money when you register by Friday, June 7. After that date, you must register at the Convention. An additional fee will be added to registrations received after June 7. Tickets are "first come, first served." Pre-registration helps ensure your participation in the events you wish to attend. Annual Convention Registration Form 2013
The fee waiver applies to the continuing legal education programs only and entitles the recipient to attend any of the seminars during the convention at no cost. To request an application, call Karolyn at 602.340.7203. Applications must be received by Friday, May 10.
Registration Cancellation
Requests for refunds are accepted in writing or by email only. Cancellation date is the date received at the State Bar office. All cancellations are subject to a $35 administrative fee. The bar has no desire to retain moneys paid by members unable to attend; however, hotel guarantees and other related expenses make the following refund schedule necessary. Message Center
Call the Arizona Biltmore 602.955.6600 and request the SBA Information Booth. Messages will be posted on the SBA message center bulletin.
Mandatory CLE
Each attorney is responsible for maintaining a personal record of attendance for CLE credit. To assist you, a form will be provided for you to record attendance at CLE programs during the convention. This form is for your personal record only. Do not return the form to the State Bar office.
MCLE requirements in other states: forms will be available at the SBA registration desk.
Convention Attire
A primary function of the convention is to provide a casual atmosphere that allows participants to meet with attorneys from across the state. The dress code is casual for the entire conference.
Photography
Please Note: A State Bar of Arizona photographer may take photos of participants at convention functions or activities. These photos are for SBA use only, and may appear in SBA programs, brochures, newsletters, website and other publications and materials. Your attendance constitutes your permission and consent for this photography and subsequent usage.
Kids Korral (all three days)
Children 5 - 12 years are invited to participate in various activities tailored to their age group. Activities are scheduled to coincide with Convention events so children are supervised and entertained while you attend the programs. Activities include swimming, hiking, tennis, bicycle rides, yoga, golf, board games, arts and crafts. A minimum 24-hour advance registration is required.
