2012 Recipient

Kingsnorth, Tally
TALLY KINGSNORTH
joined the Florence Immigrant & Refugee Rights Project as a staff attorney in September 2007. Today, she is the organization's Pro Bono Program Director and has trained hundred of attorneys statewide to represent detained immigrants before the Immigration Courts, the Board of Immigration Appeals, and the Ninth Circuit.

In addition to her work at the Florence Project, Tally joined the University of Arizona School of Law as an Adjunct Professor in the Legal Writing Department in 2010. Over the last six years, she has recruited and mentored dozens of law clerks, including some of her writing students. With Tally's support, her former interns have joined the Florence Project staff, become Florence Project pro bono volunteers, and gone on to work for the National Immigrant Justice Center, the Maricopa County Public Defenders office, and the San Diego Federal Defenders office.

On weekends, Tally often volunteers her time at naturalization fairs and workshops for Dreamers. Lastly, she serves on the Arizona Center for Disability Law's Protection and Advocacy Council for Individuals with Mental Illness and the U.C. Davis School of Law's Immigration Law Clinic Alumni Council.
