Z'Tejas restaurants file for bankruptcy

Facing higher costs and lower sales, Z’Tejas Inc. filed for bankruptcy protection last week with a plan to sell the Scottsdale-based business, which includes five local restaurants. Z’Tejas, which employs about 300 full-time and 425-part-time employees at nine restaurants in three states, filed for protection under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court.
