Common Tasks FAQs

Deleting Messages

There are two ways you can select the messages: Shift-Click, and Ctrl-Click. This means hold down the Shift (or Ctrl) key while you left-click with your mouse. Shift-click selects a range of messages, while Ctrl-Click selects specific messages not necessarily right next to each other. Which you use depends on what you want to do. Let’s say you have 10 messages in your box.

  1. To delete all messages between 2-7, click message #2, then Shift-click message 7. This will select all messages in that range.
  2. To delete non-contiguous messages 1, 2, 5, and 8, click message #1, then Ctrl-click the remaining messages 2, 5, and 8. This is how you can select messages that are not right next to each other.

In some browsers like Firefox, you may see a dialog box pop up if you use Paste--whether by the toolbar button, right-click, or pressing Ctrl-V. If you do, just paste again in the box and press the Insert button. In Internet Explorer, you will get a dialog prompting you for permission for the browser to access your clipboard. If you are pasting in webmail, simply allow access. It should not ask for access again for that session.
