As the program chair, each year Jess tirelessly combs through hours of television clips to find fresh material for the extremely popular TV Legal seminar. Additionally, Jess co-chaired Litigation and Trial Basics in January 2013, served on the panel for Legal Ethics Can be Fun in June 2013 and is a regular speaker for the State Bar of Arizona's course on professionalism for new admittees to the State Bar.
Jess A. Lorona is a partner at Lorona Mead, PLC, in Phoenix, Arizona. He has been practicing law for 30 years and is licensed in all Arizona courts as well as federal courts situated in the District of Arizona and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Lorona is also licensed to practice before the United States Supreme Court and the Court of Federal Claims. Mr. Lorona’s practice areas include Personal Injury Litigation; Auto Accidents; Wrongful Death; Criminal Defense (Felonies and Misdemeanors); DUI Defense; Appellate Practice/Civil & Criminal Appellate Matters; Post Conviction Relief; Civil Litigation; and Defense of Teachers and Nurses.
Mr. Lorona is a Judge Pro Tem for the Hopi Tribal Court; Ak-Chin Indian Community Court; City of Phoenix Municipal Court, and the Maricopa/Stanfield Justice & Municipal Court, as well as a member of the following organizations: Arizona State Bar; The Arizona Trial Lawyers Association; The Arizona Attorneys for Criminal Justice; Los Abogados Hispanic Bar Association; Arizona’s Children Association; The Maricopa County Bar Association-Criminal Law Section; Arizona College of Trial Advocacy; National Education Association; and Arizona Education Association. Mr. Lorona also sits on the Board of Directors for the Arizona Children's Association, one of the largest non-profit agencies in the State.
Mr. Lorona is a frequent lecturer in the State of Arizona and other states on the topics of Ethics and Professionalism and is a faculty member of the Arizona College of Trial Advocacy.
