Number of Lawyers Actively Practicing

A lawyer can be licensed in Arizona without actually practicing law on a full-time, or even a part-time, basis. Those who are licensed and engage in practice must be “active” members. Other categories into which lawyers may fall are “inactive,” “judicial,” “over 70 years of age,” and “retired.” The following chart indicates into which categories Arizona-licensed attorneys fall.

State Bar Section Memberships
