10/24/2014 - Animal Law Section - State of Arizona v. Files Update
Former USDA Wildlife Services employee Russell Files is facing felony animal cruelty charges for using a leghold trap to trap his neighbor’s dog. Although this is a state prosecution, trial will be next month in United States District Court. Come hear how that happened procedurally, and get an update on this unusual case. Over more than 25 years of practice of bankruptcy and insolvency law, Bill has represented an array of different client interests. His main focus now is Chapter 11 business cases – representing debtors, secured creditors, unsecured creditors, committees and trustees.

10/24/2014 - Administrative Law Section - Arizona Insurance Regulation Overview
The program will provide a high level overview of regulation of the insurance industry in Arizona by the state Department of Insurance, including the historical background of the state regulation system, an overview of the Department of Insurance, the Arizona Insurance Code, specific areas of regulatory oversight, and the structure of the national and international insurance regulatory mechanisms. The program will also include an overview of federal intervention in the area of insurance regulation, particularly in connection with health insurance, and a panel discussion between regulators and regulated parties.
