LAW DAY

Law Day Overview
Each year on May 1, the State Bar of Arizona participates in Law Day, a nationally-celebrated program sponsored by the American Bar Association. In 1958, President Dwight D. Eisenhower proclaimed the first Law Day to strengthen our country's heritage of liberty, justice and equality under the law. Over the years, legal and civic organizations nationwide have used these general ideas to develop educational programs for the public.

Each Law Day is centered on a specific theme to make Law Day informative and fun for students, the legal community and the community at large. The State Bar of Arizona has sponsored many Law Day programs, including coordinating attorney visits to classrooms statewide to educate students about the Law Day theme and sponsoring free legal advice clinics for the public.
